Hi my name is Alice; I live in the South Brisbane Bayside area in the beautiful Suburb Victoria Point. I was born in Scotland and moved to Australia when I was 5 years old. I grew up in a very busy household being the second oldest of 9 children.
I am a registered nurse and I worked in mental health nursing for 21 years, I bought my first embroidery machine in 1999, I had quite a bit of trouble working out how to use it properly because the internet was not what it is today. Right from the start I wanted to create my own designs. But I had no idea what this would entail, I went to the shop where I had bought my machine and asked the sales person about it. She told me that to create designs required software that was very expensive and difficult to use, I still really wanted to create my own designs, so I used the software that came with my Janome memory-craft machine, this is not digitizing software, neither is it particularly good editing software but it was all I had. I really wanted a very simple flower to put on a multicoloured quilts that I was making to go with a really bright matt for my family room. I am not a quilter; I don’t have that much patience for quilting I just wanted something bright and fun. I could not find the really simple design that I wanted anywhere, so I drew the flower scanned it and digitized it in Customizer 2000 easy import software. I look at it now and cringe the digitising is terrible.
I obviously now own much better software, I digitise in generations. I have spent a great deal of time learning how to digitise and like anything else in life I continue to learn.
Since then I have established this website, I am adding more designs all the time.
